England Athletics is the membership and development body for athletics and running in England. We partner with clubs, UK Athletics, Sport England, and commercial partners to promote and support athletics across all ages and abilities.

Para Athletics Talent Officer

Reporting to the National Para Athletics Manager, you will lead the identification and recruitment of talented para athletes into England Athletics’ Talent Pathway to support more athletes with eligible impairments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the identification and recruitment of para athletes into the Talent Pathway.
  • Act as the first point of contact for para athletics enquiries and support new athletes with club signposting and classification.
  • Collaborate with clubs and coaches to create inclusive environments and opportunities for para athletes.
  • Develop, implement and deliver the Frame Running strategy.
  • Lead para athletics talent identification initiatives, including the Street 2 Stadium programme.
  • Ensure talent identification opportunities are attended by appropriately skilled and trained coaches.
  • Link grassroots disability sport to the England Athletics talent pathway.
  • Support the delivery of the England Athletics talent programme activities.
  • Provide support to England Para Teams at domestic and international competitions.

Successful Candidate Profile

  • Degree in a relevant subject or significant experience in athletics and disability sport.
  • Knowledge of the England Athletics talent pathway.
  • Experience working with para athletes in coaching, club, mentoring or development settings.
  • Understanding of the Paralympic pathway and para athlete eligibility, or willingness to develop this knowledge.
  • Strong understanding of club athletics and para athlete integration.
  • Passion for developing opportunities for para athletes across England.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel nationally for programmes, events and talent identification activities.
