Role Overview
The Senior Event Technician will lead the technical production for mid‑to‑complex level events, ensuring seamless audio, video, lighting, and staging experiences for attendees, press, partners, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and prepare the event production studio for daily operations.
- Oversee technical readiness of the team for all events.
- Coordinate technical requests across internal teams and external vendors.
- Lead events as a technical lead, troubleshooting audio and video workflows.
- Provide subject‑matter expertise on studio capabilities to external partners.
- Document studio specifications (LED wall, rigging, lighting, audio, video).
- Enforce facility rules and regulations with external agencies.
- Organize and maintain switcher layouts and auxiliary equipment for show calling.
- Explain complex technical systems to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Support wider team through hands‑on delivery of all events.
- Collect feedback and identify trends to improve technical production offering.
- Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and escalation processes.
- Act as main point of contact for all technical matters in the assigned studio.
- Collaborate with engineering to maintain and optimise AV systems.
- Execute flawless technical cues with show callers, technical directors, or external agencies.
- Operate audio, video, lighting, or camera equipment during events.
- Train and mentor technicians in the studio.
- Schedule and perform system maintenance checks in partnership with engineering.
- Flex into other event production areas as required by skill and training.
Required Qualifications
- 5–7 years of relevant experience in event technical production.
- Expertise in audio‑visual technology, including lighting, rigging, power, and signal flow.
- Proficiency with LED walls, Ventuz, and WATCHOUT.
- Experience with advanced audio‐visual equipment and control systems (Yamaha CL, Final Cut ProX, Keynote, G‑Suite, ETC Ion, Crestron, ROSS Carbonite, Panasonic PTZ, Dante, Shure, PlaybackPro, Clear‑Com, Meyer, QSYS).
- Live video switching and live audio mixing experience.
- Operational knowledge of large‑format event production systems.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong prioritisation ability in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with varying production levels.
- Knowledge of PTZ camera systems and live streaming encoding platforms.
- Capability to generate technical metrics for events.
- Reading building schematics and installation diagrams for troubleshooting.
- Understanding of TCP/IP networking and audio/video protocols.
- Fluent in English and able to work on‑site.
- Willingness to travel across campuses as needed.
