Commercial Solicitor
Remote (UK-based) | Full-time
We’re looking for a solicitor who’s confident in their judgment, curious by nature, and believes in alternative legal services.
At Lawyerly, we’ve moved away from billable hours and hidden fees, offering small and medium-sized businesses clear, fixed-fee subscriptions instead. Our clients see us as their in-house legal team, on hand when they need us and proactive when it matters. They rely on us for professional advice, practical thinking, and being a trusted partner they can grow with.
This is a fully remote role for someone based in the UK. You’ll work independently but closely connected to a small, focused team. You’ll take the lead on client matters, build trusted relationships, and help shape how legal services are delivered in a smarter, more human way.
What you’ll be doing
- Providing practical legal advice to SME clients across a broad range of areas (commercial contracts, corporate matters, compliance, employment law, intellectual property, and commercial leases).
- Drafting and reviewing client documents and contracts, and negotiating agreements, helping businesses move forward with confidence.
- Offering proactive legal insight to help clients avoid risk and plan strategically.
- Supporting a mix of clients from different industries.
What we’re looking for
You’re a UK-qualified solicitor with 3–5 years PQE and a generalist mindset. You’re comfortable switching between different areas of law and finding practical solutions that suit each client’s needs.
Bonus points if you:
- Understands AI and its potential, with experience using AI tools like Claude to enhance workflows
- Have experience in corporate law
- Started your journey as a paralegal and bring that hands-on mindset
- Enjoy working autonomously and taking ownership of your day
- Have strong instincts but stay open and collaborative
- Communicate clearly, warmly, and without unnecessary legal jargon
- Appreciate a flexible, fast-moving environment where new ideas are welcome
