Are you an experienced Electrical Estimator looking to join a growing engineering business delivering innovative modular electrical solutions? Due to continued expansion, we’re recruiting for an Estimator to join a highly successful engineering team specialising in modular electrical rooms, switchgear and power distribution solutions. The Role As an Estimator, you’ll be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for modular electrical room and switchgear projects. Working closely with engineering, procurement and project management teams, you’ll ensure tenders are commercially competitive while maintaining technical accuracy and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate estimates and technical quotations from client specifications
- Review electrical drawings, schematics and technical documentation
- Produce detailed cost breakdowns covering labour, materials, equipment and subcontractors
- Work closely with Engineering, Procurement and Project Management teams
- Monitor project scope changes and update estimates accordingly
- Support bid reviews and provide commercial recommendations
- Liaise with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders throughout the tender process
- Keep up to date with industry standards and estimating best practice
What We’re Looking For Essential
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in electrical estimating
- Experience estimating switchgear, modular solutions or similar electrical projects
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and installation processes
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings and specifications
- Excellent commercial awareness and analytical skills
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
