Location: Bradbury House, Gosforth, Seascale, CA20 1AUHours: 21 HoursPay: £12.77 p/h – £12.98 p/hRota: Mon 10am–2pm, Tue 3:30pm–8pm, Wed 10–2pm, Thu 3:30pm–8pm, Fri 10am–2pm
Responsibilities
- Within Abbeyfield we believe that maintaining and improving the social and mental health of our residents is as important as their physical health. In the role of Activities Coordinator, you have a vital role in achieving this.
- You will provide a varied range of social activities suitable for your residents.
- You will naturally get to know your residents as individuals, involving them and others at all stages of the activity development process and tailoring each activity to their current physical and mental needs and abilities, including those with dementia.
- You have the responsibility and pleasure of developing positive and supportive relationships with our amazing residents. You can use their life stories, experiences and interests to collate a selection of personally meaningful activities that will most engage them, while maintaining their choice to be as involved, or not involved, as they wish.
- You will work in partnership with other staff and volunteers, utilising their skills and expertise and motivating and supporting them throughout their involvement.
- You will ensure each activity runs as smoothly as possible, planning and obtaining all needed supplies and addressing any concerns promptly.
- You will maintain an up‑to‑date record of relevant information, including resident involvement and past and planned activities.

- You will be highly organised, and able to work using your own initiative.
- You are creative, with a fresh approach to planning activities, caring, empathetic, and understanding the needs of older people, including those with dementia.
- You can communicate and interact well with a wide range of people in varied situations, and you remain patient, calm and tactful in sensitive circumstances.
- You will build strong relationships and be a strong and supportive team player.
Please note this role will require eligibility to work in the UK, two satisfactory employment references and an Enhanced DBS check, the cost of which will be met by Abbeyfield.
