MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES IN THE BUSINESS

• As a Lead Platform Engineer (Consultant) in Kainos, you’ll be responsible for leading teams
• to design, automate, build, manage and optimise modern digital service platforms. It’s a
• fast-paced environment and you’ll be trusted to make sound, reasoned decisions. You’ll
• do this whilst learning about new technologies and approaches, with colleagues that will
• help you to learn, develop and grow. As the technical leader in the team, you will also
• interact with customers, share knowledge and mentor those around you.

Your key responsibilities will include

• Working as part of a team – You’ll work alongside colleagues in engineering, testing,

improvement of underlying platform services

• Using technology for positive impact – You’ll ensure the latest technologies are

MINIMUM (ESSENTIAL) REQUIREMENTS

• Strong verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to simply and

technical audience

• We all work in teams here in Kainos – You’ll need a proven experience of team

complex projects

• Significant expertise in:
• Designing, building, testing, automating, monitoring

service platform in production environments

• Using the latest Continuous Delivery and automation techniques for

management tools

• Demonstrable experience in:
• Building and/or supporting modern digital service platforms to include

modern agile approach

• Championing best practice use of Site Reliability Engineering tooling,

services. E.g. monitoring, platform modernisation and cost optimisation

• Use of a public cloud platform(s) including SaaS or PaaS offerings (AWS or

DESIRABLE

• Obtained certification with a public cloud provider (AWS/Azure)
• Obtained certification relating to a particular area of specialisation e.g. Kubernetes
