Volunteer role
Volunteer drivers help veterans get from A to B, collecting them from their homes or community centers, driving to appointments, and arranging day trips. Your role includes escorting veterans into and out of the vehicle and ensuring a comfortable journey.
What you will be doing
- Transport veterans to various locations
- Provide passengers with full details of the journey, e.g., pick‑up and arrival times, and guide those without an escort
The skills you need
- Happy to work independently
- Full, clean driving licence held for at least 2 years
- Own car – reasonable expenses will be covered
- Friendly and welcoming attitude
- Patient when assisting veterans
- Good initiative and decision‑making skills
