Job Description:

As Head of Service Delivery within Cyber Security Operations Centre (CSOC) you will lead all delivery and service management across the department. You will take ownership of the delivery onboarding programme to enhance protective monitoring for critical national infrastructure and other business critical services. The role will drive initiatives, reporting on progress and strengthen cyber security across the Home Office.

As Head of Service Delivery, you will be accountable for the performance of multiple teams working to deliver cyber security capabilities and services. You will set up your teams for success and represent them to stakeholders and suppliers, building successful relationships across and beyond the organisation. You will find and remove blockers and inefficiencies, using data to continually encourage better ways of working within and between teams, leading to better outcomes.

As a leader in the Home Office Technology Delivery community, you’ll share knowledge and experience with colleagues across the department and wider Government, building skills, advising others, and applying good practice and standards. You will support the UK’s security and prosperity through the products and services that your teams deliver.

What you will do

  • Take responsibility for delivery of cyber security capabilities and services across multiple teams, facilitating and coaching in the most appropriate methodologies for complex, ambiguous situations. Facilitate structured approaches to problem-solving and opposing user needs, continuously improving processes and performance.
  • Lead, manage, and optimise the performance of a team of delivery managers and service practitioners, ensuring effective delivery of services in line with organisational objectives and standards.
  • Lead delivery within cost and time constraints, ensuring that realistic plans are maintained. Ensure regular, accurate communication with stakeholders and engagement with appropriate governance.
  • Develop and bring together motivated, functioning teams, empowering cross-team collaboration and joined-up delivery. Monitor the health of interactions between teams and resolve issues.
  • Ensure that risks are identified, their impact and probability are understood, and mitigations are in place, involving specialists where necessary.
  • Identify and understand stakeholder groups and their needs. Develop stakeholder engagement strategies and plans and lead teams in executing them.
  • Work proactively with suppliers involved in delivery, monitoring their performance, and collaborating to resolve issues. Help to improve supplier management processes.
  • Drive service management engagement and early-life support to maintain the highest quality operational controls.

  • Leading teams in different delivery approaches, such as Agile and Waterfall, guiding them in implementing the most appropriate methodology for the situation, while continuously reflecting and challenging them to inspect and improve processes,
  • Facilitating the delivery of technology products and services throughout their lifecycle, across multiple teams,
  • Bringing teams together to work towards common goals, identifying and rectifying issues in the links between them,
  • Identifying, prioritising, and managing risks, issues and dependencies,
  • Leading teams in understanding and communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders, managing stakeholder expectations, resolving issues and improving relationships,
  • Engaging with suppliers, monitoring their performance, and resolving problems
