Interim Capital Project Manager (Fit-Out Projects)

12-to 16-month contract

We are seeking an experienced Capital Project Manager to join a dynamic Estates and Capital Development team within a leading London-based education institution.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of a diverse portfolio of fit-out, refurbishment and space improvement projects across a complex operational estate. Working closely with academic, professional services and external stakeholders, you will manage projects from inception through to completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest standards of quality.

This is a great opportunity for a motivated project professional with experience of delivering fast-paced fit-out projects in occupied environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, procurement and delivery of capital fit-out projects.
  • Manage projects through all stages of the project lifecycle, from feasibility and design development through construction, handover and close-out.
  • Develop and manage project programmes, budgets, risk registers and reporting processes.
  • Appoint and manage consultants, contractors and specialist suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation, statutory requirements and organisational policies.
  • Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to minimise disruption to operational activities.
  • Monitor project performance and proactively manage risks, issues and change control processes.
  • Support the development of project business cases and investment proposals.
  • Provide regular progress updates and project reporting to senior stakeholders.
