Responsibilities
- Work flexibly and co‑operatively as part of a multi‑disciplinary team to deliver quality person‑centred care.
- Assist in the day‑to‑day smooth running of the unit.
- Work with, talk to and listen to service users, carers and families, encouraging their participation in the recovery process.
- Participate in the assessment of care needs, the development and implementation of programmes of care, and risk assessments.
- Support and empower service‑users, working with the multi‑disciplinary team to promote a culture of engagement and activity.
- Use de‑escalation skills to manage aggression exhibited by service users, subject to achieving agreed training and competency.
- Help as required in the administration of medication.
- Be aware of own behaviour and its effect on others.
- Be compassionate and open‑minded.
- Treat colleagues, service‑users, carers and relatives with dignity and respect.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continual service and personal improvement.
- Reflect the Trust’s values by behaving in a welcoming, kind, positive, respectful and professional manner.
- Work across a seven‑day week.
Qualifications and Experience
- Educated to GCE/GCSE or equivalent (Maths and English).
- NVQ Level2/3 or equivalent training in the field of work is desirable.
- Relevant training such as safeguarding, de‑escalation, autism, mental capacity, or good communication skills.
- Commitment to continuing personal development.
- Flexibility, ability to work as part of a team, and the ability to work on own initiative without direct supervision.
- Experience in managing own time and working as part of a team.
- Good decision‑making skills.
- Ability to complete, record and report observations and assessments.
- Ability to identify risk and report, recognise, and respond to clinical risk.
