An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Technician to join our growing, friendly team at Niftylift! The role is based at our state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing facility in Shenley Wood, Milton Keynes. The Manufacturing Technician role requires team players with experience, skills and knowledge in mechanical assembly, as well as basic hydraulic and electrical fitting and installation.

Working Hours & Salary

  • Monday – Friday, 08:00 – 16:30 (40 hours per week)
  • Mandatory structured overtime depending on production requirements
  • Guaranteed hourly starting rate: £12.86 – £13.67 per hour depending on experience (rising to a maximum of £15.54 per hour once signed off at specific skill levels)
  • Additional Weekly Bonus: average of £75 – £100 per week (for ref. only), guaranteed at a minimum of £50 per week, payable when all qualifying criteria are met
  • Overtime: paid at a premium rate (x1.5 or x2.0 depending on hours worked)
  • Annual Bonus: £500 per annum (for ref. only, based on recent average)

Key Responsibilities

  • Mechanical assembly of mobile elevated work platforms (cherry pickers), with some hydraulic installation and electrical wiring required.
  • Efficiently follow correct-to-specification structured build stages.
  • Comply with health and safety standards.
  • Develop and enhance skills through learning a range of manufacturing processes and production lines.
  • Continuous improvement and elimination of waste through ‘Lean Manufacturing’ techniques and tools.
  • Working as a team player to achieve customer quality, delivery, cost, and innovation requirements.

Qualifications And Experience

  • Experience in a similar hands‑on assembly role.
  • Computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Office.
  • A good communicator (spoken and written) at all levels within the business, including with customers.
