Vision

To support the BSS Team Leaders to enable our lawyers to perform to a high standard to deliver excellent service and legal advice to our clients.

The BSS Administration Manager will work closely with the Partners and legal team leads to understand the growing needs of their department and implement the correct level of people resource with complementing skills to enable the department to maximise fee earning and utilise their time effectively.

The BSS Administration Manager will collaborate with the Business Services Directors and their teams to evolve in a rapidly changing environment to ensure efficient processes and share best practices to support the delivery of work by our lawyers.

Main Responsibilities

We are recruiting for a national BSS Administration Manager to support the BSS Operations Manager by overseeing all administrative operations within BSS. The role will involve managing our Administration Team Leaders across our four office locations, to ensure we provide effective collaboration, service delivery and continued professional development. The creation of this exciting new role will allow the ideal candidate to define the role, and evolve where necessary as the Firm grows continues the year on year growth.

Leadership

  • Support BSS Operations Manager and Head of Business Support Services to deliver all administrative operations.
  • Line management of Administration Team Leaders, supporting a department of more than 60 employees.
  • Support your direct reports in identifying and achieving agreed objectives through delegation, coaching, mentoring and training.

Relationships

  • Develop and foster a collaborative culture and promote consistency and standardisation with PA Team Leaders and the Legal Departments.
  • Conduct monthly stakeholder review meetings with Business Support Departments such as Facilities and Recruitment.
  • Work in partnership with all Business Services teams to implement robust compliance policies and procedures to support ISO accreditations.
  • Build and develop trusting relationships with office and Legal team.

Technical

  • Adopt and promote continuous improvement ideas and methodologies.
  • Deliver and manage the different Legal Teams’ expectations relating to our operational expertise and capabilities.
  • Actively manage work levels, resources and quality assurance across all administration procedures.
  • Be a subject matter expert and BSS representative for client and matter inception processes.Produce reports to facilitate effective analysis and forecasting of team size and recruitment requirements.

What we’re looking for from you

  • Experience managing tasks in a fast-paced service delivery environment.
  • Leadership and people management skills and experience of 10+ years is essential.
  • Good communication skills to articulate information in a clear and concise manner through a variety of channels.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment where formal governance and controls are required is desired
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent organisational skills to manage competing priorities.
