Job Description:

We are seeking an organised, efficient and proactive Business Support Officer to join our friendly primary school team. This is a key role supporting the smooth running of the school’s administrative, financial and operational functions, helping to ensure a high-quality learning environment for all pupils.

Please note that to be suitable for this role, you must have experience working in a school office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Headteacher and senior leadership team
  • Manage daily school office operations, including reception duties and communication with parents/carers
  • Support financial processes such as invoicing, budgeting and record keeping
  • Maintain accurate pupil and staff records using school systems
  • Assist with HR processes including recruitment administration and staff records
  • Coordinate school communications, newsletters and correspondence
  • Support safeguarding, attendance and compliance procedures
  • Contribute to the organisation of school events and activities

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Previous experience in an administrative or business support role (school experience desirable)
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good knowledge of IT systems, including SIMS or similar programmes
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A professional, friendly and confidential approach
