HGV Refuse Driver

The rewards

• £17.47 per hour (weekdays)
• Higher rates for weekends and overtime
• Long-term contract with potential to become permanent

Hours

• Monday to Friday with potential evening and weekend overtime
• AM shifts: start at 5:00am, 6:00am or 7:00am
• PM shifts: 12:30pm to 9:30pm
• Approximately 6.5 hours per shift

The role of HGV Refuse Driver:

• Drive along designated routes to collect refuse and recycling waste
• Check routes for safety restrictions, planned roadworks and traffic to ensure smooth operations
• Complete all required paperwork including job logs and incident reports
• Perform daily vehicle checks and report any issues promptly
• Adhere to site rules and regulations including correct PPE usage

The ideal HGV Refuse Driver:

• Valid HGV licence
• Minimum 6 months HGV driving experience
• Able to complete enhanced compliance checks (Right to Work, references, proof of address, National Insurance number)
• Strong attention to safety and reliability
