Location: Nottingham/Hybrid (Hybrid working available).

Role Overview

Senior Clinical Negligence Solicitor – responsible for managing complex clinical negligence cases end‑to‑end, providing strategic guidance to the team, and maintaining client relationships. The role offers high autonomy, hybrid working and strong professional development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support, guidance and assistance to the team to deliver outstanding service to customers
  • Lead proactive and commercial case management and progression
  • Support the Team Leader in achieving the team’s financial performance KPIs
  • Record time accurately and efficiently
  • Discuss and agree case tactics and planning with the Team Leader and members of the team
  • Identify cases ready for Letters of Claim, settlement, and service
  • Ensure relevant information is collected and collated to advance the case
  • Manage a caseload in a proactive, commercial manner
  • Coordinate case progression with internal and external parties
  • Draft legal documentation (LOC, letters of instruction, etc.)
  • Negotiate settlements and issue/provide proceedings when necessary
  • Oversee team‑produced documentation and correspondence
  • Advise the team on technical issues arising from cases

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Recent experience managing a case load
  • 8+ years PQE or equivalent experience in Clinical Negligence
  • Excellent organisational, time management, communication and drafting skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Proclaim and Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness
  • Ability to coach and mentor junior team members
  • Results‑oriented with commitment to meeting deadlines
  • Excellent client‑care skills
