Your role
You will take responsibility for leading, co-ordinating and managing projects which may include strategy development, resource procurement or project/programme development. We want you to:
- Develop regeneration strategies, plans and programmes within the city’s strategic growth areas.
- Develop corporate programmes, plans, bids and initiatives with a range of partners / stakeholders.
- Lead the development and preparation of bids for funding linked to strategies, including Lottery and European funding.
- Research and prepare reports including for Cabinet, City Mayoral briefings, Lead Member, partnerships and officer working groups.
- Manage and monitor budgets and financial risks associated with programmes and projects to ensure effective management and financial propriety.
- Participate in, lead and support cross-directorate teams, while working on a partnership basis with a range of public, private, community and voluntary organisations.
- Oversee and co-ordinate regeneration events, including visits, conferences, seminars, exhibitions and consultations.
- Help to grow the skills and capabilities of the wider team.
Your profile
- Demonstratable experience of leading and managing regeneration projects and programmes.
- Current knowledge of the key regeneration urban policy issues and government initiatives.
- Well-developed organisational and analytical skills ability to work independently to interpret complex data and issues.
- Demonstrable experience of co-ordinating and managing budgets and financial programmes to mitigate financial risks.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal and ability to work under pressure and handle conflicting priorities with short deadlines.
- The ability to manage, support and motivate staff and undertake staff appraisals, as necessary.
