Freelance Senior Site Manager – Chelmsford, Essex

New Build Care Home Project – Chelmsford – 4 months remaining.

We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to join a £19m new‑build care home project, working under a well‑established multidisciplinary construction contractor. The project is at the finishing and fit‑out stage with approximately 4 months until completion.

Responsibilities

• Oversee subcontractor work during the finishing and fit‑out stages.
• Manage programme delivery to meet the remaining 4‑month completion target.
• Maintain health and safety standards across the site.
• Ensure exceptional quality of workmanship and finishes up to practical completion.

Requirements

• Previous experience delivering new‑build residential, care home, or similar projects.
• Strong finishing and fit‑out management experience.
• Excellent subcontractor coordination and programme management skills.
• SMSTS certification.
• First Aid at Work certification.
• Black or White CSCS Card (desirable).
