Account Director / Team Leader – Real Estate

As part of their continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Senior Account Executive / Team Leader to take a lead role within our ambitious and growing business.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior insurance professional looking to step into a leadership role within a specialist real estate brokerage environment.

The successful candidate will lead and develop a team of Account Executives, oversee a portfolio of key clients, build strong insurer and client relationships, and play a central role in shaping the continued growth of the business.

The role offers direct engagement with clients, insurers and senior leadership, along with day-to-day responsibility for team performance, making it well suited to someone who enjoys leading from the front, developing others and driving results within a specialist brokerage environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading and managing a team of Account Executives, providing guidance, coaching and day-to-day oversight
  • Managing a portfolio of key commercial insurance clients, with a particular focus on property and real estate risks
  • Setting team objectives and monitoring performance against growth and service targets
  • Developing strong long-term relationships with clients, insurers and underwriters
  • Negotiating renewal terms and obtaining competitive market quotations on higher-value or more complex accounts
  • Attending and leading client and insurer meetings
  • Identifying opportunities for portfolio growth, cross-selling and new business development across the team
  • Overseeing renewals, mid-term adjustments and general client servicing standards across the team
  • Mentoring and developing junior and mid-level team members, supporting their technical and professional growth
  • Working closely with senior management to help shape strategy and support the continued growth of the business
  • Acting as an escalation point for complex client or technical queries

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum of 10 years’ commercial insurance broking experience, ideally with strong exposure to property or real estate risks
  • Proven experience managing, leading or mentoring a team, either formally or informally
  • Experience using Acturis preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication and relationship-building skills
  • Commercially minded with a proactive, client-focused and results-driven approach
  • Confident dealing with clients, insurers and underwriters at a senior level
  • Highly organised, professional and able to manage both team and client workload
  • Ambitious and interested in helping shape the future direction of a growing specialist brokerage
