Location: Black CountryPay Rate: £14.85 per hour + Shift Allowance (6.5 hours per week)Shifts: Rotating Days

We’re recruiting for an experienced Machine Tool Maintenance Engineer to join a long-established heavy engineering manufacturer. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong engineering background who enjoys fault finding, preventative maintenance and continuous improvement within a busy machine shop environment.

The Role

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance across a wide range of machine tools and manufacturing equipment.
• Respond quickly to reactive breakdowns to minimise production downtime.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults.
• Support machine upgrades, refurbishment projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist with the installation and commissioning of new machinery.
• Work closely with production teams to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.

Candidate Requirements

• NVQ Level 3, BTEC or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong engineering and maintenance background within manufacturing.
• Experience carrying out both preventative and reactive maintenance.
• Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Analytical approach with the ability to identify long-term improvements.
• Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude.
