On behalf of Deutsche Bank, we are looking for a Lead Java Developer-Front Office for a 6 month contract based in the bank’s London office on a hybrid working model of 3 days per week in the office and 2 from home.

List of Responsibilities

  • Planning, designing, and delivering end-to-end engineering solutions that support business objectives and customer needs.
  • Building reliable, resilient, and secure solutions through thoughtful testing, continuous review, and quality practices throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Creating maintainable, scalable, and reusable solutions that enable long-term value and efficiency.
  • Ensuring solutions are well-architected and integrate effectively across systems, teams, and business processes.
  • Reviewing engineering approaches, designs, and quality standards to encourage knowledge sharing, drive consistency, and strengthen engineering capabilities across the organisation.
  • Collaborating with diverse stakeholders to deliver inclusive, accessible, and effective technology solutions that support a wide range of users and needs.

Skills Required

  • Proven ability to lead and execute full software development lifecycle (design, build, test, deploy, maintain).
  • Strong understanding of Java concurrency, memory management, and performance tuning.
  • Proficiency in both front-end (e.g., Angular, React) and back-end (RESTful APIs, microservices) development.
  • Experience with GCP is preferred; however, expertise in Azure or AWS Kubernetes, along with related Cloud DevOps tools, is also valuable.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD), and version control (Git).
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
