What You’ll Be Doing
As a senior member of the engineering team, you will take true technical ownership of the backend services powering the global platform. You will lead architectural discussions and collaborate cross‑functionally to transform ambitious product ideas into highly available, secure, reliable systems.
- Design and implement scalable backend services for the core pre‑book e‑commerce platform
- Own the complete feature lifecycle from initial technical specification through to automated deployment
- Architect distributed systems capable of handling high‑volume consumer traffic across global airports
- Collaborate with global partners to design and integrate seamless APIs that expand the ecosystem
- Champion engineering best practices across testing automation, TDD/BDD, and robust CI/CD pipelines
- Foster a constructive, blameless culture where production issues are treated as collaborative opportunities
What They’re Looking For

- Proven ability to design and deliver large‑scale distributed systems and microservices for high‑volume applications
- Advanced backend engineering capability with Scala, Java, or similar languages, using Scala as the principal tool
- Strong production experience with event‑driven architectures and modern software design paradigms
- Hands‑on database fluency working with relational technologies like MySQL and PostgreSQL
- Deep understanding of automated build, test, and deploy workflows alongside modern CI/CD pipelines
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with container technologies and Infrastructure as Code techniques
- Domain experience working with e‑commerce platforms or complex third‑party API integrations
- Exposure to an extended ecosystem including TypeScript, React, Snowflake, AWS, or Datadog
- A proactive interest in leveraging emerging AI tools to enhance engineering productivity
