Overview
Lead with purpose as the Nursery Room Manager for South Bermondsey Nursery and Pre‑School, a SouthEast London Early Years Foundation nursery. The role involves overseeing a 4‑to‑5‑year‑old cohort, managing a team, and collaborating with the LEYF social pedagogy to provide high‑quality early years education.
Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire the nursery team, ensuring each child receives care and education in line with LEYF values (Inspiring, Brave, Nurturing, Fun).
- Plan and deliver toddler and preschool learning programmes, including activities such as obstacle courses, cooking, gardening, modelling, painting and dialogic reading.
- Maintain a safe, welcoming and compliant nursery environment, safeguarding children and keeping current with health and safety regulations.
- Support staff development and coaching, fostering the growth of team members.
- Engage with parents and the local community to create a positive and inclusive learning experience.
- Collaborate with the wider LEYF team, contributing to decisions that shape the group’s social pedagogy.
Qualifications
- Level3+ Early Years Foundation or equivalent qualification.
- Experience as a Room Leader, Room Manager or 3rd in Charge.
- Full right to work in the UK.
- Strong safeguarding and child protection practices.
- Ability to demonstrate passion, creativity and leadership within an early years setting.
