About us

Founded in 1857, the Science Museum is one of the world’s leading science museums. It inspires over three million visitors a year through award‑winning exhibitions, galleries and a diverse range of events and programming.

About the role

As Project Manager (Exhibitions & Galleries), you will lead projects from concept to completion, working with cross‑departmental teams to deliver innovative, visitor‑focused exhibitions and immersive experiences. You will manage a portfolio of projects with various budgets, ensuring high‑quality delivery that aligns with the Museum’s strategic goals, including developing new exhibitions, refreshing galleries, and updating object displays.

Working with stakeholders across the Science Museum Group, as well as creative contractors and design teams, you will coordinate delivery, make informed decisions, and ensure projects are completed on time, on budget and to a high standard.

About you

You will bring experience delivering complex exhibition projects on schedule and to a high standard, and the ability to develop ideas and advance projects. You will be comfortable leading cross‑disciplinary teams in a creative setting and have experience managing substantial budgets, including accurate reporting, cash‑flow planning, and meeting spending targets. As an effective communicator, you will develop productive relationships and apply diplomacy to sustain engagement across project teams. You will be highly organised, able to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously while consistently delivering high‑quality work by deadline.

We welcome applications from candidates whose experience does not match directly but who possess transferable skills that could make them a successful fit for this or other opportunities.
