Senior Manager, Temperature Control & Transportation

As part of the Quality team, the Senior Manager Temperature Control & Transportation will find opportunities to continuously improve quality, cost and time factors consistent with the Deliver business objectives. This role will be the central point of contact for quality assurance processes, procedures, audits and activities as it relates to Transportation and Temperature control globally. The Senior Manager works to develop work processes and solutions that integrate compliant product and customer delivery requirements into the distribution operation for DePuy Synthes products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct, control, and facilitate the Global Temperature & Transportation Control Support Center (TCSC) objectives and plans to meet tactical and strategic goals.
  • Serve as the Engineering expert for global temperature control, ensuring all activities and projects align with TCSC goals and adhere to good engineering practices.
  • Oversee implementation of projects using project management tools to drive continuous improvement, cost savings, and business requirements.
  • Act as subject‑matter expert for collection, analysis, and reporting of temperature data used to make science‑based decisions, advising business units on temperature protection needs.
  • Provide leadership to assigned team members, ensuring timelines and compliance goals are met for TCSC activities.
  • Manage ongoing benchmarking of temperature control industry processes, realizing savings and enhancing customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain liaison with individuals and global units within or outside the organization, acting independently on technical or business matters.
  • Monitor market and partner with external suppliers to evaluate, qualify, and deploy new temperature control and monitoring technologies, aligned with stakeholder and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead qualification of new supplier temperature control solutions and coordinate internal SMEs for supplier qualification.
  • Collaborate with supply chain and business unit partners to standardize temperature control processes.

Qualifications

  • Minimum BA/BS in Engineering or related field; MA/MS/MBA preferred.
  • At least 8 years of related work experience.
  • Knowledge of temperature‑controlled transportation, distribution, and storage.
  • Knowledge of cGMPs and international, federal, and local regulations for medical device manufacturing, storage, transportation, and distribution.
  • Ability to take ownership of and support talent acquisition, performance, and development of self and others.
  • High‑level multi‑tasking and organizational skills; ability to troubleshoot temperature control and transportation issues globally.
  • Demonstrated global mindset.
  • Subject‑matter expert within the functional area.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% domestically or internationally.
