Job Description:

Responsibilities

  • Providing technical direction for site activities to internal teams and skilled labor to ensure safety, compliance, and quality.
  • Perform all mechanical and hydraulic maintenance, repair, or replacement of parts as directed.
  • Use hand tools and small power tools to conduct general maintenance of Aeroderivative Gas Turbines.
  • Execute on‑site job duties, including sub‑contractor coordination and customer/internal communication.
  • Troubleshoot complex mechanical and hydraulic problems on variable pitch/variable speed turbines.
  • Oversee overhaul, troubleshooting and commissioning of Aeroderivative products at customer sites.
  • Perform advanced site maintenance activities on AERO engines such as hot‑section replacement and top‑case work.
  • Address mechanical activities on the gas turbine and troubleshooting of auxiliary systems and balance of plant (BOP).
  • Assess component residual life (strong plus).
  • Lead customer and contractor meetings to update action plans and advise on technical solutions.
  • Maintain internal training, compliance and quality documentation and ensure adherence to company standards.
  • Ensure all in‑field activities comply with environmental health & safety (EHS) guidelines.

Qualifications

  • At least 6 years of experience as a mechanical technician on aircraft engines, aero‑derivative engines or other turbine technology (preferred LM series, Level 2–4 inspection expertise).
  • Excellent mechanical, technical and oral communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of installation and maintenance of rotating equipment, including bolting, hydraulic bolting, flange management and small‑bore piping.
  • Extensive experience with gas turbine maintenance activities.
  • Experience working in a mechanical role within an energy, oil and gas or similar environment.
  • Customer‑service orientation and experience leading customers through challenging decisions.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information to audiences with varying technical levels.
  • Deep awareness of health, safety and environmental compliance and risk management.
  • Self‑motivated, decisive and innovative problem‑solver.
  • Good knowledge of English.
  • Availability to travel globally 70 % of the time.
  • EU passport or European work permit.

Travel & Location

Travel globally 70 % of the time. Pay range for Italy: EUR 38,499.83 to 62,700.

Work Flexibility

In‑site work duration and hours are determined by customer requirements. Time between assignments follows Baker Hughes working‑time guidelines and fatigue management provisions.
