Join our dynamic and multidisciplinary Water Team as a Principal Civil Engineer in one of our rapidly growing Scotland offices—Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, or Perth—while also utilising our flexible hybrid working model.

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Lead project teams to deliver high‑quality outcomes that meet client expectations.
  • Manage design scope to ensure projects are delivered within budget and programme constraints.
  • Technical Expertise
    • Demonstrate strong technical understanding and maintain awareness of current industry practices and innovations.
    • Lead the quality assurance process for project deliverables, ensuring compliance with standards and client requirements.
  • Team Development
    • Play a lead role in the development and management of design teams in the Perth office, while collaborating with colleagues across the UK and Ireland.
    • Develop and mentor junior staff, providing guidance and support to help them reach their full potential.
    • Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment that encourages professional growth.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Engagement
    • Act as a strong communicator, capable of effectively engaging with multiple project stakeholders, including clients, team members, and external partners.
  • Health & Safety Leadership
    • Possess a strong knowledge of current health and safety legislation.
    • Actively embed a safety‑first culture within your area of responsibility, ensuring compliance and promoting best practices.

Qualifications

Ready to push the limits of what’s possible?

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Education Base – BEng degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, or demonstrable equivalent experience.
  • Professional Accreditation – Be professionally qualified or working towards accreditation with a relevant body (ICE, CIWEM, etc.).
  • Technical Knowledge – Have experience working within the water/wastewater industry leading project teams and managing design scope. Experience of multi‑disciplinary non‑infrastructure projects is preferred.
