As the Planning Lead, you will take full operational ownership of the project’s master planning system, manage resources, and ensure production teams are fully supported in delivering every milestone.
Your key focus areas:
- Managing multiple resources within the planning function and overseeing parallel project programmes.
- Providing expert guidance on NEC4 contracts.
- Leading, mentoring and developing junior planning staff to foster a high-performing team environment.
- Collaborating across design, procurement, construction and commissioning phases.
To excel in this role, you must have a proven track record within Tier 1 main contracting, specifically delivering complex, large-scale healthcare or highly regulated public developments.
- Sector Expertise: Deep experience across major construction projects, with healthcare or clinical development experience being absolutely essential. Additional exposure to complex commercial or mixed-use schemes is preferred.
- Contractual Knowledge: Robust, practical experience managing NEC4 forms of contract.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of specialist planning software (PowerProject, P6, MS Project, or Asta).
- Leadership: Exceptional communication skills with a natural ability to mentor staff, manage diverse teams, and clearly articulate critical project issues to stakeholders.
