Clinisupplies is a leading UK-based manufacturer and supplier of medical appliances specialising in bladder and bowel products for managing acute and chronic conditions. We also offer a portfolio of bandages and garments for the treatment of wounds and chronic skin conditions. Employing over 800 people in the UK, China and India, we supply our products to the NHS and deliver direct to patients’ homes through Nightingale Home Delivery, our dispensing appliance contractor.

Clinisupplies is focused on developing products which are simple and discreet to use. Our product development team works with clinicians and patients to develop a strong product pipeline to be manufactured at its CA, CE, ISO, US FDA approved facilities.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to lead and optimise the day-to-day running of our distribution centre. This role is responsible for driving efficient logistics, effective inventory management, and high workforce productivity. It also includes overseeing health and safety compliance and managing facilities to ensure the site operates in a safe, secure, and efficient manner. The successful candidate will bring a strong background in supply chain management, operational excellence, transformational leadership, and a thorough understanding of safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Budget Management:

  • Develop, manage, and oversee the distribution centre budget, ensuring cost control and operational efficiency.
  • Analyse financial performance, identify cost‑saving opportunities, and implement budgetary improvements.
  • Ensure expenses align with company financial goals while maintaining high operational standards.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to forecast and allocate resources effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Distribution & Logistics:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the national distribution centre, ensuring efficient inventory management, order fulfilment, and dispatch processes.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve logistics, warehouse operations, and overall cost efficiency.
  • Track and analyse KPIs and operational metrics, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and high customer service standards.
  • Work collaboratively with suppliers, transport partners, and internal stakeholders to optimise the end-to-end supply chain.

Health & Safety Compliance:

  • Ensure the distribution centre complies with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and emergency preparedness drills.
  • Develop and enforce safety policies and training programs for employees.
  • Investigate workplace incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.

Facilities Management:

  • Oversee the maintenance, security, and overall functionality of the distribution centre.
  • Manage vendor contracts for facility-related services, including maintenance, cleaning, and security.
  • Ensure the facility is compliant with building codes, environmental regulations, and industry standards.
  • Develop and oversee facility improvement projects to enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience in distribution centre or warehouse management at a national level.
  • Strong knowledge of logistics, inventory management, and supply chain operations.
  • Expertise in health and safety regulations and compliance standards.
  • Experience in process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with KPIs and performance metrics.
  • Previous experience working within a medical or healthcare industry.
