Help us make a difference as a Operations Manager

Monday to Friday – 37.5 hours per week.

To safely manage the AD Plant and day to day site operations and any associated activities in line with the site permit whilst maximising production to meet KPI’s of the division.

Your Core Responsibilities.

  • Short, medium and long term planning of health and safety and environmental compliance requirements and waste operations with the Plant Manager
  • Compliance with Health & Safety at Work Act, other relevant legislation and Company procedures. Daily management of the day to day operations of the AD Plant
  • Ensure process service requirements are achieved safely and robustly
  • Provide management and leadership support to the Plant Manager for the Operational Team
  • Ensure the effective allocation of resource such that tasks and operations are completed safely, on time and on budget
  • Deliver programmes of Continuous Improvement across the site
  • Deliver KPI targets against contract and business objectives
  • Develop a working culture that enhances employee engagement
  • Identify areas within your control to remove cost and improve profit
  • Follow procedures and best practice to ensure audit compliance and ISO accreditations are achieved
  • To promote a culture of safety including accident, near miss and incident reporting. Participation in investigations, health and safety committees and audits
  • Communication, co-ordination and control of contractors on site, including inductions, safety plans and permits to work
  • To attend and hold SIT meetings as required

Requirements

  • Relevant management or safety qualifications (e.g., IOSH)
  • Significant experience in waste, environmental, or operational management roles, with a track record of meeting KPIs and delivering continuous improvement
  • Strong knowledge of waste and environmental legislation, including EA and ABPR regulations, and experience with green/food waste, composting, or water treatment operations
  • Experience liaising with regulatory authorities and implementing new processes or operational developments
  • Proficient in IT, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and computerised control systems (SCADA), with ability to analyse numerical data
  • Proven ability to develop and manage data capture, recording systems, and overall waste operations in time‑critical process environments
