Job Description:

Carry out repair and maintenance work on factory services and equipment to maintain efficiency of the plant

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and deliver discrete projects within own area, to deliver specified business benefits within a set time frame and cost-effective manner.
  • Liaise with company insurers to ensure statutory testing of equipment is carried out & logged on time within legal requirements.
  • Keep up with current legislation requirements & ensure such information is distributed within the department to relevant personnel.
  • Manage & record maintenance of plant facilities, i.e., roadways & buildings.
  • Manage / control contractors carrying out work on site.
  • Provide hands on maintenance, repair & technical support, to team and plant.
  • Use of SAP for records & work schedules.
  • Source and order defective equipment, components.
  • Compliance with Health and safety regulations and procedures.
  • Understanding & use of plant monitoring system.
  • Plant process systems & utilities including air, vacuum, gas, steam, & water.
  • Control of water treatment plant and processes across site.

Required skills / qualifications:

  • Overview of glass production process.
  • Knowledge of company legislation requirements.
  • Ability to Plan, organise & prioritise multiple works simultaneously and to effectively manage tasks under pressure.
  • Be organised and proactive in improving the sites infrastructure and services in maximising the plants uptime and availability.
  • Have a commitment to continuous Improvement – 5S, SMED, TPM.
  • The Personal Drive to succeed for the team and business.
  • Good working knowledge of project planning.
  • Analytical & interpretative skills.
