Job Description:

Carrying out scheduled planned maintenance work on all equipment relating to the DCWW asset base in compliance with company procedures to minimize plant breakdowns. Investigating plant failures and carrying out repairs promptly to avoid service interruptions and ensure compliance. Working on like‑for‑like installations, refurbishment and commissioning of equipment to specification and on time.

Responsibilities

  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings of various equipment to ensure correct tolerance and fit for efficient plant operation.
  • Maintaining general knowledge of treatment processes and variations at individual assets to assess problems and results accurately and quickly.
  • Inspecting, repairing, installing and testing mechanical and electrical equipment to meet mandatory legislative requirements.
  • Actively participating in Risk Assessment, COSHH assessment and all related Health and Safety issues.
  • Assessing spares and materials required to complete work effectively; ordering additional items via the Supervisor or directly from suppliers as needed.
  • Implementing and maintaining Information Management System (IMS) procedures at all times to ISO standard, keeping IMS records satisfactory for internal and BSI audits.
  • Using a mobile device to record all work details and time.
  • Liaising closely within the Alliance Partnership to ensure that all large capital schemes are implemented effectively and efficiently.

Qualifications

  • A recognised apprenticeship in mechanical/electrical or dual‑skilled engineering awarded with an NVQ Level 3 qualification or City & Guilds equivalent.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team.
  • IT literate and experienced with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Practical experience gained in industry to support your apprenticeship and ensure full compliance with all Health & Safety procedures.
