Clinical Specialist – Surgical Robotics

Territory: UK | Field-based role with national travel

We are partnering with an innovative surgical robotics company that is transforming soft-tissue surgery through advanced robotic-assisted technology. As the organisation continues to expand its commercial footprint across the UK, we are seeking a Clinical Specialist to support the successful adoption and utilisation of its cutting-edge robotic platform.

This field-based position will focus on providing expert clinical support to surgeons and theatre teams, driving procedural excellence, and acting as a trusted partner throughout the customer journey.

We are looking for a clinically focused professional with hands-on operating theatre experience who is passionate about advancing surgical innovation. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting soft-tissue surgical procedures, enjoy working in a dynamic, high-growth environment, and possess the ability to build strong relationships with surgeons, theatre staff, and hospital stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert clinical support during robotic-assisted soft-tissue surgical procedures
  • Act as the primary clinical resource for surgeons, theatre nurses, ODPs, and wider perioperative teams during system use
  • Deliver hands-on product training and education to surgical teams throughout onboarding and ongoing clinical adoption
  • Support the successful implementation of new accounts, ensuring confidence and competency with the robotic platform
  • Drive clinical utilisation and adoption through exceptional procedural support and relationship management
  • Gather clinical insights and customer feedback to support product development and commercial strategy
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, Clinical Education, and Technical Support teams to maximise customer success
  • Represent the organisation at surgeon training programmes, workshops, conferences, and industry events
  • Maintain accurate documentation of case activity, customer interactions, and clinical outcomes in line with company processes
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, quality, and hospital policies while working within the operating theatre environment

Qualifications

  • Degree in Nursing, Operating Department Practice (ODP), Biomedical Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related healthcare discipline
  • Previous operating theatre experience supporting soft-tissue surgical procedures
  • Experience within the medical device industry is preferred, ideally supporting capital equipment, surgical technologies, or robotic platforms
  • Strong understanding of operating theatre protocols and minimally invasive surgical techniques
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with surgeons, theatre staff, and hospital stakeholders
  • Highly organised with the ability to work independently in a field-based environment
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally, including occasional overnight stays
