Job Description:

We are seeking an Electronics Manager to join one of our clients in Oxfordshire. The business is a well-funded advanced technology company designing and manufacturing highly complex metrology equipment for the semiconductor industry.

Key responsibilities

  • Leading the instrumentation and electronics team through coaching, mentoring and developing people via regular feedback and performance reviews
  • Providing technical leadership to ensure high-quality, reliable instrumentation design and successful project delivery
  • Working closely with senior leaders to shape the company’s instrumentation strategy, introducing the tools, processes and capabilities needed to support future growth
  • Driving continuous improvement across products, engineering processes, design tools and team capability
  • Collaborating with systems architects, optics, mechanics, controls and multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure seamless instrumentation integration
  • Contributing hands-on to measurement validation, signal characterisation and fault investigation when required
  • Supporting robust product lifecycle management, including requirements review, design reviews, engineering change control and revision management

Experience we are seeking

  • Previous people management experience within an electronics, instrumentation, metrology or semiconductor capital equipment environment
  • Strong electronics background across PCB design, power supply characterisation, low-noise amplifier design or selection, and signal integrity
  • Experience with signal capture, conditioning and measurement chain design for sensitive instrumentation
  • Knowledge of signal generation and capture, including ADC and DAC selection and application
  • Strong understanding of power delivery and grounding best practice for sensitive, complex precision equipment
  • Experience conducting and interpreting precision measurement and characterisation testing
  • A practical, collaborative approach to technical leadership and problem solving
  • Comfortable working within a multidisciplinary engineering environment, partnering with systems, optics, mechanics, controls and manufacturing teams
  • Degree qualified in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Physics or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience
