Teaching Assistant

Overview

We are looking for Teaching Assistants at Witherslack Group to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other support needs at Luxborough Court School. The role offers a supportive environment, dedicated colleagues and opportunities for career growth.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils aged 5‑19 with Autism Spectrum Disorder in learning activities and therapeutic interventions.
• Assist teachers with classroom delivery, ensuring pupils can participate and progress.
• Collaborate with therapists to implement individualised support plans.
• Encourage and build pupils’ self‑esteem and independence.
• Maintain a positive, supportive environment for all pupils.
• Help maintain classroom and school facilities, including outdoor areas.

Qualifications

• Resilient, dedicated and enthusiastic about supporting children with special educational needs.
• Experience working in an education setting is desirable; if you lack experience we will provide the necessary training.
• Good communication skills and ability to build rapport with pupils and colleagues.
• Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check and online search (cost covered by employer).
