Position

Advanced Pupil Support Worker

Setting

  • Linlithgow Primary School nursery class situated within Linlithgow and serves the local area
  • The ELC provides learning areas both inside and outside and has links to the local community
  • Setting open 50 weeks per year, staff work flexibly on a rota across the opening hours

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 support to a learner as part of the Nursery team
  • Work Monday 12:30-4:15pm, Tuesday and Wednesday 8am-6pm to support the learner’s development
  • Bring a sound knowledge of child development and additional support needs
  • Collaborate with the forward‑thinking team to deliver learning activities and support plans

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) – must be completed within three months of commencing this post
  • Hold a relevant qualification with a 5‑year period
  • Preferred candidates from 28 February 2011 must join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to formal offer
  • Experience in child development and additional support needs is highly desirable
