Position
Delegated Authority Technician – London.
Package: £Negotiable + Benefits.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical and administrative support for new and existing underwriting agreements, including binders, binding authority agreements, Coverholder appointment agreements, and delegated authority contracts.
- Draft and review underwriting agreements in line with internal standards and regulatory requirements, recommending amendments where needed.
- Document and process changes to underwriting agreements, such as endorsements.
- Assist with the approval and registration process of underwriting agreements using Lloyd’s and London Market tools (ATLAS, DCOM, QA Tool, Crystal, Xchanging/DXC, DDM).
- Support Coverholder approvals and ongoing Lloyd’s compliance/due diligence, maintaining accurate records within ATLAS or successor systems.
- Conduct system testing (UAT) to verify new underwriting agreements, products, and system functionality are correctly programmed and meet contractual and regulatory standards.
- Maintain underwriting agreement manuals, centrally held files, the master agreement list/database, and internal trackers.
- Prepare risk/written bordereaux for review by Directors/Department Heads and distribute to capacity providers/carrier partners.
- Coordinate and organize capacity provider/carrier partner audits, respond to audit recommendations, and manage activities through DAM or successor systems.
- Produce reports and management information to aid stakeholder oversight of underwriting agreements.
- Respond quickly to ad-hoc requests from external and internal contacts via email, verbal, or the task management system.
- Manage multiple complex requests of similar priority, prioritizing pragmatically.
- Build and develop trusted relationships with Underwriters and Directors/Department Heads, acting as a business partner across teams.
- Perform other regular and ad‑hoc activities/duties as required and meet Year‑End Performance Review objectives.
- Complete a minimum of 15 hours of Continuous Professional Development annually.
Qualifications & Skills
- Ideally educated to ‘A’ level or equivalent, with strong GCSE/Maths.
- Highly organized, self‑motivated, and able to work under pressure in a small team.
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong decision‑making skills and the ability to filter information and prioritize tasks.
- Ability to maintain and develop good working relationships at all levels.
- Accurate record‑keeping and confident, self‑initiated work with limited supervision.
- Advanced IT literacy in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Proven track record in a similar role with knowledge of binders and delegated authority practices.
- Experience with Lloyd’s and London Market tools (e.g., DCOM, ATLAS).
- Previous experience within an independent or Broker‑owned MGA preferred; broker technician experience advantageous.
- Knowledge of RiskWrite is advantageous but not essential.
