Overview
We are seeking three proactive and compassionate Family Support Worker practitioners with experience of working with children, young people and families. The ideal candidate will be skilled in assessment, planning and delivering effective Early Help interventions, with strong safeguarding knowledge and a commitment to improving outcomes in line with the Families First approach.
Responsibilities
- Engage families and build positive relationships to support sustainable change.
- Work in partnership with multi‑agency professionals.
- Assess, plan and deliver Early Help interventions.
- Lead meetings and maintain accurate, timely record‑keeping.
- Manage a varied caseload and travel across the borough as required.
Requirements
- Experience working with children, young people and families.
- Strong safeguarding knowledge and commitment to child welfare.
- Excellent communication, organisation and record‑keeping skills.
- Ability to engage families, manage caseloads and deliver outcomes in line with the Families First approach.
- Medical clearance and an enhanced DBS check.
- Proof of right to work in the UK.

Working Arrangements
Successful candidates will be based within Dudley’s Best Start Family Hubs, working as part of an integrated early help offer to support families at the right time, in the right place. Work includes office hours 3+ days a week on a pro‑rata basis or onsite full time, with travel across the borough as needed.
