Job Description:

Join Autism East Midlands as a Community Autism Support Worker. You will support autistic adults with a variety of activities, encourage independent living skills, provide personal care and medication administration, facilitate integration into the local community, and manage anxieties that may be expressed through distressing behaviour. No prior experience is required as full training will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Support autistic adults with activities that they enjoy.
  • Encourage and develop independent living skills.
  • Provide personal care and medication administration.
  • Facilitate integration into the local community.
  • Respond to and manage anxieties and behaviours communicated through distressing behaviour.

Qualifications

  • No experience necessary; full training will be given.
  • Prior experience as a support worker, care assistant, nursery assistant, personal care assistant, or experience in the NHS, health care or social care is an advantage.
  • Care Certificate will be fully paid (essential for those pursuing a career in health and social care).
  • Free initial DBS Check; the cost of an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check and the annual DBS Update Service will be covered.
  • Evidence of Right to Work in the UK is required.
