Community Inclusion Facilitator

Overview

A 30‑hour per week Community Inclusion Facilitator position in Nottingham supports people with a learning disability to develop skills and confidence for full inclusion in their local community.

Me Time is Mencap’s social inclusion, leisure and community‑led programme that delivers direct community activities and connects participants with local opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Enable people to make decisions and choose new opportunities that align with the lives they wish to lead.
• Ensure plans are person‑centred and that the individual is fully involved in all aspects of planning and review.
• Be creative, dynamic and adaptable to challenging scenarios related to participants’ needs.
• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of participants, monitoring progress and reporting on the programme’s impact.
• Complete all recording requirements in a timely manner with high‑quality reporting and case studies.
• Communicate with participants with dignity and respect.
• Support colleagues in building community networks, sharing contacts and connections.
• Raise concerns through the appropriate channels, especially regarding safeguarding.
• Be flexible and able to work from different locations and projects within the community.
