Job Title: IT Build Engineer – Service Desk

Location: Hemel Hempstead

Salary: Up to £32,000 (depending on experience)

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Build Engineer to join our growing Managed Service Provider (MSP) team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work, building and configuring IT systems, and ensuring smooth deployment for a variety of clients.

You will be responsible for preparing, configuring, and deploying hardware and software solutions, working closely with internal teams to deliver high-quality IT services.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, configure, and deploy desktops, laptops, and servers to client specifications
• Install and configure operating systems, applications, and security tools
• Assist with imaging, patching, and system updates
• Prepare and test equipment prior to deployment
• Maintain accurate documentation of builds and configurations
• Troubleshoot build-related issues and support deployment processes
• Work closely with Service Desk and Project teams to meet delivery deadlines
• Ensure all builds meet company and client standards

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in a Build Engineer, IT Technician, or similar role (ideally within an MSP environment)
• Strong knowledge of Windows OS (Windows 10/11, Windows Server)
• Experience with imaging tools (e.g., MDT, SCCM, or similar)
• Basic networking knowledge (IP addressing, DNS, DHCP)
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 setup and configuration
• Good hardware knowledge (desktops, laptops, peripherals)
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience working in an MSP environment
• Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, Intune)
