Engineering Operations – Governance, Contracts & Data Support
Provide central operational and governance oversight for Clinical Engineering services, ensuring medical device management is safe, compliant, contractually controlled, and data‑driven.
Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate engineering operations governance, supporting contract assurance, service reporting and performance monitoring across in‑house and third‑party maintenance arrangements in line with organisational medical device management policies.
- Support contracts and assurance control, managing maintenance agreements, service documentation and contractual compliance, and ensuring accurate records, clear accountability and effective escalation of risk.
- Provide data and information support to Clinical Engineering and stakeholders by maintaining high‑quality operational datasets, producing service reports and supporting evidence for assurance, audits and decision‑making.
- Act as a key interface between engineering teams, procurement, governance and clinical services to underpin robust governance, accurate data and effective contract management.
Qualifications
- Professional healthcare or business knowledge acquired through training to diploma equivalent (e.g., NVQ Level 3, BTEC, ONC/OND & short courses).
- Working towards NVQ Level 4, HNC level or equivalent.
- Additional training in information governance, records management or quality systems.
Experience
- Experience with asset‑management databases, Microsoft Office or equivalent and data input tasks.
- Demonstrable experience using computerised equipment inventories, work‑service records and maintenance scheduling within a technical environment.
- Experience working in an NHS electronic/engineering workshop environment.
- Undertaking a range of technical and customer‑related tasks.
Skills
- Able to work on own initiative within defined procedures and priorities.
- IT literate – proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, systems and databases.
- Ability to support equipment management activities, including basic checks and fault reporting, in line with documented procedures.
