Children and Families Social Work in Aberdeenshire Council offers a varied and rewarding caseload covering duty, permanence, child protection, and work with children with additional needs. As a social worker, you will support children and families to build on their strengths and create lasting positive change. This role provides the opportunity to build a strong foundation and standing in social work practice across a broad range of statutory responsibilities.

Requirements
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out of the UK in the last 5 years, an overseas criminal record check will be required. The check must be provided. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of these pre‑employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
This post has a minimum requirement of two references, one of these must be your current or most recent employer.

Support for Newly Qualified Social Workers
Newly Qualified Social Workers (NQSWs) will be supported through a comprehensive local induction and the SSSC Supported Year. This includes:
- Observational and shadowing opportunities
- Mentoring and structured guidance
- Experiential learning to build confidence and competence
