History Teacher – Secondary School

Location: Bournemouth, Dorset

Start Date: September

Contract Type: 3 days a week (Tuesday – Thursday)

Salary: Paid to scale (MPS/UPS)

The Role

  • Teaching History across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Delivering engaging, challenging, and differentiated lessons
  • Encouraging students to develop analytical and evaluative skills through the study of historical events and themes
  • Supporting students to achieve their academic potential
  • Participating in departmental planning, assessments, and school‑wide initiatives

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Has experience teaching History in a UK secondary school
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Passionate about promoting historical enquiry and critical thinking
  • Committed to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Available from September 2026
