Overview
Aviation Recruitment experts Optime Group are looking for Passenger Service Assistants to join a well‑respected and successful client at Bristol Airport. Working as a member of the Passenger Assistance Team, you will be responsible for delivering customer service excellence to every passenger requiring support, including those with hidden disabilities or mobility restrictions.
Security and Background Checks
As this is an airport role, successful candidates must pass security checks in line with CAA regulations. These checks include a 5‑year work and address history, DBS (must have no disqualifying criminal convictions), and a valid Right to Work.

Shift Patterns
Below are the shifts that will be available on the App. You must be able to work a minimum of 4 shifts per week, including at least one weekend shift, and be able to work AM shifts.
- 0300 – 0900
- 0400 – 0900
- 0400 – 1000
Role requires flexibility across all hours of work.
Key Duties
- Escort arriving and departing special assistance passengers (and accompanying family, when necessary) through the airport, either on foot, by wheelchair, or electric buggy/caddy as designated.
- Maintain a professional, polite, and courteous demeanor at all times.
- Assist with passenger luggage.
- Complete the Daily Equipment Check Sheet to maintain operational reliability of equipment, report any defects in accordance with the inspection procedure.
- Ensure wheelchairs and buggies remain clean and tidy.
- Update Centralised Control on progress using IT handsets.
- Complete all necessary paperwork legibly and submit in a timely manner.
- Perform any additional reasonable duties assigned by operational management.
Requirements
- Great work ethic.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Self‑motivated and willing to work using own initiative.
- Full UK driving licence (desirable).
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
- Previous airport experience is an advantage but not essential.
- Successful candidates will be required to complete a basic DBS record check following interview in line with CAA requirements.
