Overview
Lancashire Constabulary is recruiting a full-time Police Control Room Operator at Police Headquarters, Hutton. The operator will be the first point of contact for the public, handling emergency and non‑emergency calls, making critical decisions and ensuring the correct response is provided.
Responsibilities
- Receive and triage emergency and non‑emergency calls from the public.
- Assess situations, make critical decisions and direct resources appropriately.
- Operate call‑handling equipment and maintain accurate call logs.
- Work 37 hours per week on a rota, including weekends, Bank Holidays and other key days.
Qualifications
- Intermediate IT skills and familiarity with Windows systems.
- Typing or word‑processing speed of at least 20 words per minute.
- Minimum 3‑year UK residency and be at least 18 years old.
- Good communication skills and a customer‑focused attitude.
Salary and Working Hours
Rota A, 37 hours per week: Basic rate £25,949 – £32,613. Once working full shifts and weekends: £34,908.31 – £43,873.17.

Employment Details
Work schedule: Monday to Friday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm during training, followed by the standard rota. Weekend, Bank Holiday and special event work required.
