Description:We are hiring for our client, a well-established SME in the Greater Belfast area, who are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join their senior leadership team.
This Financial Controller job is a key appointment for the business, reporting directly to the Managing Director and taking ownership of the finance function. The successful Financial Controller will play a hands-on role across financial reporting, controls, cashflow, budgeting, forecasting and commercial decision support.
This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys working closely with business owners, influencing decision-making and adding real value within an SME environment.

The Role:* Lead and manage the finance function across the business* Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports and board-level information* Manage budgeting, forecasting and cashflow planning* Review and improve financial controls, processes and reporting systems* Provide commercial insight to support business performance and strategic decisions* Work closely with the MD and senior management team on financial planning* Oversee compliance, VAT, payroll and statutory reporting requirements* Manage relationships with external accountants, banks, auditors and key stakeholders* Support operational teams with financial analysis and performance reporting
The Person:* Qualified Accountant, ideally ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent* Strong experience in a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or senior finance role* Previous experience within an SME environment would be highly beneficial* Commercially minded with the ability to support strategic decision-making* Strong technical accounting, reporting and controls experience* Confident communicator who can work closely with senior leadership* Hands-on, proactive and comfortable working in a broad finance role* Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
