We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated and skilled Senior Assistant Teacher / Cover Supervisor to join our professional team. The Role
As a Senior Assistant Teacher / Cover Supervisor, you will:
- Cover and supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers.
- Deliver high-quality learning activities within an agreed framework.
- Work with individuals and small groups to provide targeted interventions and support.
- Assist teachers with planning, preparation and the development of learning resources.
- Support pupils with a range of needs to access learning and make progress.
- Monitor, assess and record pupil progress, providing detailed feedback.
- Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a purposeful learning environment.
- Lead, mentor and support Assistant Teachers as required.
- Support pupils’ social, emotional and pastoral needs.
- Foster positive partnerships with parents, carers and external professionals.
- Contribute to the wider life, ethos and continuous improvement of the school.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for a professional who:
- Has experience working with children and young people, ideally within a SEND environment.
- Understands the needs of pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition and additional learning needs.
- Has excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Can confidently lead whole-class learning and small group interventions.
- Demonstrates strong behaviour management skills and a nurturing approach.
- Is committed to safeguarding, inclusion and achieving positive outcomes for all pupils.
- Works effectively as part of a collaborative and supportive team.
- Has the ability to motivate and inspire pupils to become confident, independent learners.
