Primary Teacher – SEND School (South Birmingham)
Primary Teacher – SEND School (South Birmingham) is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher to join an exceptional team. The specialist school supports children with a range of additional learning needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), communication needs and associated learning challenges. With small class sizes, experienced Teaching Assistants and outstanding resources, teachers can focus on delivering personalised learning that helps pupils achieve their full potential.
Responsibilities
- Teach a small class of primary‑aged pupils with SEND.
- Plan and deliver engaging, highly differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of each pupil.
- Support pupils with Autism, learning difficulties and communication needs.
- Create a positive, structured and inclusive classroom environment.
- Work closely with experienced Teaching Assistants and specialist staff.
- Monitor pupil progress and contribute to EHCP targets.
- Encourage independence, confidence and social development.
- Build positive relationships with parents, carers, and professionals.
Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching primary‑aged pupils.
- A passion for SEND education and inclusive practice.
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
- Ability to adapt learning to meet a range of individual needs.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Previous SEND experience (desirable but not essential).
