We are seeking a Pastoral Support Worker to join our team at Epsom and Ewell High School, part of Bourne Education Trust.

Contract: Permanent, termtime

Start Date: September 2026

Salary: Fringe – Surrey PS6 Full time equivalent £31,658, Actual salary £23,201

Responsible to: Assistant Headteacher

Key responsibilities

  • Support the Head of Year in the day‑to‑day pastoral management of the year group
  • Build positive relationships with students to support their well‑being, engagement and progress
  • Support the implementation of the school’s behaviour policy, addressing issues proactively and consistently
  • Provide early intervention for students experiencing social, emotional or behavioural difficulties

Requirements

  • Awareness, understanding and commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children
  • Proven track record of continuous professional development
  • Evidence of prioritising, planning and organising
  • Experience working with young people in a learning environment
  • Experience within technology, design and construction environment
  • Specific experience and skills within a building trade
  • Successful applicants will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
