Assistant/Garment Technologist

Role Overview

A fantastic opportunity for an Assistant / Garment Technologist to join a leading, established clothing company who supply the High Street and Supermarket accounts. The ideal candidate will have a relevant degree with commercial experience and be looking to develop their career in a fast-paced environment with the opportunity to meet Retail Buyers.

Reporting

Reporting to the Head of Department.

Responsibilities

• Ensure garments are produced to the required quality standard and that manufacturing is measured within tolerance.
• Discuss new designs with the design department and Merchandisers and help decide the best way to manufacture them.
• Determine size specifications and plan how new garments will be produced, producing initial and graded size charts.
• Monitor production of sample garments and initiate any changes to designs to fit manufacturing requirements.
• Perform grading, pattern review & fitting, lab reports and shipment samples approval.

Required Skills

• Fashion degree.
• Ideally have worked for a supplier with similar retailers.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meeting strict deadlines.
• Team player with ability to work independently.
• Ability to travel as and when required to meet with Buyers and suppliers.
• Can drive to attend fit meetings.
